Hello 5th grade parents!!!!
With the new school year comes the task of getting your child back into certain routines. One of those routines is "HOMEWORK TIME". What are some procedures or tips you can offer each other to help with getting your children back into the routine of making sure their homework is not only completed correctly, but also turned in on time?
Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all the 5th grade staff. The school year has started and the transition from 4th grade has gone very smooth. I am sure it is the great teaching of the 4th grade teachers and the 5th grade teachers combined. Thanks to all involved.
ReplyDeleteAlaina is so right to say THANK YOU! We appreciate all you do and can't wait to keep up with the class this year. I had a great time at lunch bunch today!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the topic goes, we try to get as much done the night before as possible - clothes out, breakfast ready in the fridge, homework in backpacks by the door and sort of go over a checklist in the mornings to make sure we have it all. When the kids are picked up we immediately have them double-check their backpacks to ensure they have everything and immediately do any assigments at the table when they get home. Once ALL THE KIDS are done, they get their fun time (toys, tv show, or video game). Incentives are how we handle making sure the priorities are in line and routines are solidified - do good at schoolwork and homework = have more fun time. ;)
Christy was initially TERRIFIED about starting 5th grade but all fears have been alleviated - she is off to a fantastic start and is really enjoying her teachers...THANKS SO MUCH!
